Experience hands-on learning and cultural connection at Crafted Tradition Family Days—a new monthly series at the Mid-America All-Indian Museum. Each event highlights a traditional Native craft, story, or seasonal practice through interactive activities designed for all ages. From art-making to cultural demonstrations, families are invited to explore Native heritage in a fun and meaningful way.

Saturday, July 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.​

Celebrate the cultural symbolism of turtles in Native traditions with a day of hands-on fun for all ages! Families will get to create their own crochet stuffed turtles and explore how turtles appear in Native stories and teachings. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Kansas Wildlife Exhibit will be on site with live turtles and other native animals—so guests can meet the real-life inspiration behind our activities!

Admission is $10 per person for ages 4 and up, or $30 for a family/group of four, and includes full museum access.
